10th October - Exploring the Small Isles and Inner Sound

Enjoy the comfort and elegance of Hebridean Princess as she explores the sheltered and distinctly different Small Isles, together with rugged mainland gems on a cruise of varied adventure.

10th October 2017.

When embarkation was complete and the mandatory safety drills had taken place, we sailed from Oban to our overnight anchorage in Bloody Bay, Sound of Mull.

11th October 2017.

After an early morning sail around Ardnamurchan Point, we anchored in Loch Scresort, Isle of Rum for a visit to the eccentric, Edwardian folly of Kinloch Castle.

We spent the afternoon cruising the Sound of Sleat, Kyle Rhea and under the Skye Bridge on passage towards our overnight anchorage in Hallaig off the Isle of Raasay.

12th October 2017.

This morning we sailed into Loch Carron where guests were tendered ashore at Plockton for a guided tour of Attadale Gardens by owner Joanna Macpherson.

Whilst the guests were enjoying a seafood buffet lunch in the Columba restaurant, we voyaged to Kyle of Lochalsh for the afternoon visit to the iconic Eilean Donan Castle by coach.

13th October 2017.

Today our guests enjoyed a full day tour of the Trotternish Peninsula on the Isle of Skye with lunch at the Flodigarry Hotel.  The tour included a visit to the Museum of Island Life.

We remained alongside overnight in Kyle of Lochalsh and local musicians Cairdeas entertained our guests after dinner in the Tiree Lounge. 

14th October 2017.

This morning we cruised north through the Inner Sound on passage towards Shieldaig where guests went ashore for walks in the village.

When all guests were safely back on board we cruised south through the Sound of Raasay towards our overnight berth alongside in Raasay.

15th October 2017.

Our morning port of call was the Isle of Raasay for walks on the island and refreshments at Raasay House. 

We spent the afternoon cruising from Rassay, under the Skye Bridge, through Kyle Rhea and the Sound of Sleat on passage towards our overnight anchorage off Java Point in the Sound of Mull.

16th October 2017.

This morning guests explored Oban, visited the Oban Distillery or took a walk up McCaig’s folly.

We berthed alongside in Oban in the late afternoon where we remained overnight.

17th October 2017.

Disembarkation took place in Oban this morning and we hope all our guests have a safe onward journey.
