30th April - Springtime Surprise

Join Hebridean Princess on this Springtime Surprise as the Captain decides the itinerary on a daily basis, taking you to some of his favourite destinations.

Tuesday, 30th April.

With a sense of anticipation we set sail from Oban this evening on passage to our overnight anchorage off Port Ellen, Islay.

Wednesday, 1st May.

This morning was spent cruising the Northern Channel on passage towards Larne, Northern Ireland for our afternoon visit to the Titanic Exhibition in Belfast.

In the early evening we arrived and berthed alongside in Peel, Isle of Man, where we remained overnight. 

Thursday, 2nd May.

Guests went ashore this morning to visit Peel Castle and the House of Manannan before spending the afternon discovering the Laxey Wheel.

We sailed across the Irish Sea to our overnight anchorage off Bangor Marina, Northern Ireland. 

Friday, 3rd May.

The next port of call on our mystery cruise was Bangor for our morning tour of Grey Abbey House.

A relaxing afternoon cruise of the east coast of Northern Ireland and the North Channel brought us to our overnight berth at Port Ellen, Islay.  

Saturday, 4th May.

Our morning was spent exploring the historic site of Finlaggan, the centre of the Lordship of the Isles.  

During lunch we sailed to West Loch Tarbert, Jura, for a beach landing and walks on the raised beaches. Many thanks to guest Mrs Crooose for sharing some of these images.

We anchored overnight tonight in Loch Scridain, Isle of Mull.

Sunday, 5th May.

This morning we anchored in the Sound of Iona, where a local boat landed guests on the Isle of Staffa to visit the speactacular Fingal's Cave and observe the reisdent puffins.

In the afternoon we landed on Iona, for guests to explore Iona Abbey or go for walks on the island. 

We anchored off the south side of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula overnight. 

Monday, 6th May.

We spent the morning on the Isle of Eigg where guests enjoyed walks and strolls ashore.

Our final port of call was Kilchoan for a visit to Ardnamurchan Lighthouse to enjoy the panoramic views from the top of the 36 metre granite tower.

We anchored overnight in Charlotte Bay off Kerrera.

Tuesday, 7th May.
