9th April - Spring in the Inner Isles
There is no better time to take in some of the most glorious Highland and Island landscapes than the spring. As nature breathes new life into this unrivalled corner of the world, experience many of its unforgettable secrets.
Tuesday, 9th April.
Our guests embarked in Oban on a sunny spring afternoon before we set sail for our overnight anchorage in Kentallen Bay.
Wednesday, 10th April.
This morning we cruised up Loch Linnhe to Ballachullish where guests visited Glencoe.
Sailing over lunch to Fort William our afternoon tour took us to the Glenfinnan Monument and visitor centre.
We anchored overnight in Loch a’ Choire.
Thursday, 11th June.
Guests spent this morning exploring Kingairloch Estate and enjoying refreshments in the boat house.
After lunch we went ashore at Tobermory for walks around the colourful harbour town.
We anchored overnight off Ardmaddy.
Friday, 12th April.
From our anchorage guests were tendered ashore for their morning visit to Ardmaddy Castle Gardens.
After lunch we arrived at Scalasaig for an afternoon exploration of Colonsay and the woodland gardens of Colonsay House.
We berthed alongside in Oban overnight.
Saturday, 13th April.
From our anchorage at Ardfern Marina guests travelled to Kilmartin Museum and Glen to discover some of the 800 ancient monuments for which the area is famous.
We spent the afternoon cruising north through the Sound of Luing and the west coast of Mull on passage towards our overnight anchorage in Loch Scridain off the Isle of Mull.
Sunday, 14th April.
Sunrise in Loch Scridain.
This morning we anchored off Bunessan, Isle of Mull and guests travelled by local ferry to the Isle of Iona for Sunday Worshipin the Abbey, or to enjoy walks on the island.
Following lunch on board, we visited the Ardalanish Weavers in the afternoon for a tour and demonstration of the weaving process.
We anchored overnight in Loch Linnhe.
Monday, 15th April.
After a morning spent cruising Loch Linnhe we arrived in Oban for our final visit to Dunollie Castle, museum and grounds to discover the history of the Clan MacDougall.
We anchored overnight in Charlotte Bay off Kerrera.
Tuesday, 16th April.
Disembarkation took place in Oban after breakfast and we wish our guests a safe journey home.
